Is the Constitution Fulfilling its Promise to Provide for the General Welfare?
With a $4,000 grant from the MBF, the League of Women Voters of Portland presents Government in Our Daily Lives - Foundations and Today, a free, current, monthly program with expert panelists examining the legal, political, economic and social aspects of various general civic issues. Meetings are open to the public and will be shared statewide via TV, web streaming and YouTube. The panel discussion for the first presentation will be led by Professor Paula Abrams, Lewis and Clark Law School. "Is the Constitution Fulfilling its Promise to Provide for the General Welfare?" will explore the general welfare and how it has been interpreted over time.
