​​​​​​​Associate Justice Meagan Flynn to Become Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court 

On October 18, Associate Justice Meagan Flynn was unanimously elected by her colleagues to succeed Chief Justice Martha Lee Walters who is retiring at the end of the year. Justice Flynn was appointed to the Oregon Supreme Court in April 2017 by Governor Kate Brown.

Governor Brown will fill the judicial vacancy created by the planned December 31 retirement of Chief Justice Walters and the new appointee's service will begin immediately thereafter.
