Become Certified as a Court-Appointed Attorney

If you are interested in being appointed by the court in criminal or juvenile matters, you must first be certified by the Oregon Public Defense Commission (OPDC). OPDC has approved Attorney Qualification Standards for different types and levels of a criminal or juvenile case. These standards and corresponding forms are available on the OPDS Forms page under “Attorney Certification.” After reviewing the standards, submit the appropriate Attorney Certification form to OPDS.Atty.Qualifications@opds.state.or.us.
