Inverness Jail and Justice Center Hours Changing August 15

Inverness Jail Access Hours Changing Effective August 15
Public building hours at Inverness Jail are changing effective August 15 due to significant staffing challenges and will impact attorneys' abilities to conduct in-person meetings with clients.

INVERNESS JAIL (MCIJ)
• The Inverness Jail Lobby will close at 3:00 PM each weekday, and all visits with adults in custody must be completed by that time.  The public phone lines will be transferred to the MCDC FSO Desk, so professional phone calls with adults in custody can still be connected.
• Weekend lobby hours remain unchanged, but in-person social visitation will end each weekend day at 5:30 PM.
• Lobby kiosk hours will change to match the public lobby hours, and remote video visiting will still be available as it is now.

JUSTICE CENTER (MCDC)
• The Justice Center Lobby will close at 5:00 PM each weekday.  Professional visits and phone calls will still be allowed, but professional visitors will have to ring the intercom at the 3rd Avenue entrance to be let into the building after 5:00 PM.
• Weekend lobby hours and in-person social visitation hours for MCDC remain unchanged.
• Lobby kiosk hours will change to match the public lobby hours, and remote video visiting will still be available as it is now.
