League of Women Voters presents Is the Constitution Fulfilling its Promise to Provide for the General Welfare? - September 24 at Multnomah County Building

With a $4,000 grant from the MBF, the League of Women Voters of Portland presents The General Welfare, a free, current, monthly program with expert panelists examining the legal, political, economic and social aspects of various general civic issues. Meetings are open to the public and will be shared statewide via TV, web streaming and YouTube. Led by Professor Paula Abrams, Lewis and Clark Law School, the first presentation looks at "Is the Constitution Fulfilling its Promise to Provide for the General Welfare?," exploring the general welfare and how it has been interpreted over time. Tuesday, September 24, 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Multnomah County Building.
