MBF Grant Recipients Seek Volunteers

The League of Women Voters of Portland invites you to help plan and/or participate in small group discussions about amending the U.S. Constitution through a Constitutional (Article V) Convention, as well as through the traditional method by which Congress refers a constitutional amendment to the states for ratification. The League of Women Voters would like input from a criminal defense attorney in planning a discussion of race, ethnicity and the courts for MBF-funded "Is Justice Blind?," October 13. Time commitment two to four hours. Contact Margaret Noel.


The League of Women Voters is also seeking input from attorneys representing businesses and/or with expertise on laws and regulations governing fossil fuel transport for the November 10 "Oil and Coal Trains: Business Boon or Public Liability?" Time commitment two or four hours. Contact Margaret Noel.


MetroEast Community Media is seeking native or fluent Spanish-speaking volunteer actors for an MBF-funded Spanish language video and public service announcement that promotes civic engagement and volunteering. Key themes include volunteering as a means personal growth, having an impact and the social aspect of volunteerism. Prescripted lines will be recorded on October 6-7, 2015. Contact John Lugton if you'd like to deliver a line or two.
