OWLS Take Your Kids to Work Day
Location: Multnomah County Circuit Court, 1021 SW 4th Ave., Portland Rooms 228 and 406
Judges Frantz and Maurer, and their colleagues, together with Oregon Women Lawyers, invite you to attend a noon event on April 25 that provides an opportunity for youth to understand our court process and justice system by actively participating in a mock trial. Those age 10 and older will go to Judge Frantz's courtroom, #228, and those age 9 and younger will go to Judge Maurer's courtroom, #406. They will be welcomed by the judges and Oregon Women Lawyers, introductions will be made of the participating judges and attorneys, and then the kids will move to their assigned courtrooms to begin their mock trials. This fun lunch-time opportunity gives the children in your life a chance to meet the judges, learn about the court system and participate in mock trials. Be sure to leave time to park and go through the security line. As it is a very busy work day in the courthouse where serious matters are being addressed which significantly impact the lives of many people, the judges ask that children in attendance be supervised and reminded to be move quietly through the building, and especially when in courtrooms. All are welcome. No cost.
