This seminar will cover elder financial abuse litigation, both civil and criminal. The presenters will be Richard Braun, a solo practitioner, Jim Cartwright, of Cartwright & Associates, and Charles Mickley, of the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office, all of whom have extensive experience litigating elder financial abuse cases. Richard Braun and Jim Cartwright will provide an overview of the elder financial abuse statute and how it operates, and will also discuss their experiences in litigating abuse and the growing creative application of the statute in new areas of law. Charles Mickley will discuss his experience in prosecuting abuse on the criminal side. The seminar will also include a discussion of the interplay between civil and criminal litigation in this area.
