The OSB DIversity Section invites you to the Third Convocation on Equality - Charting the Way Forward
Registration is open for the 2021 Convocation on Equality, an online event featuring interactive presentations on Friday, November 5, 2021. Oregon State Bar leaders, attorneys, members of the judiciary, and students will come together to explore best practices for the recruitment and retention of diverse attorneys in Oregon and to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the 2001 Convocation on Equality. The 2021 Convocation, Charting the Way Forward: Addressing Bias in the Oregon Legal Community and Judicial System, will feature information to address our biases within ourselves, our profession, and the justice system as a whole. A diverse and inclusive bar is necessary to attract and retain talented employees and leaders; effectively serve diverse clients with diverse needs; understand and adapt to increasingly diverse local and global markets; devise creative solutions to complex problems; and improve access to justice, respect for the rule of law, and credibility of the legal profession.
The Convocation on Equality is a gathering held every ten years to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA) in the Oregon legal community and a celebration of the attorneys, judges, and organizations dedicated to fostering and promoting DEIA within the legal profession and the broader community. Additional information about the 2021 Convocation can be found at https://2021coe.osbar.org/.
