An inclusive section of the bar, comprised of any MBA member in practice less than six years or under the age of 36. The YLS provides leadership, networking, professional development and service opportunities, in addition to a business development network. And we have fun!
The Young Lawyers Section was created in 1980 and makes up approximately one fourth of the MBA's membership.
Many current leaders of the bar and bench are involved, or have had some prior leadership experience, with the MBA. And the MBA YLS is a great place to start honing your leadership skills and raising your profile. Most referrals come from other lawyers, so this is the place to plant the seeds to cultivate future clients and/or to find new career opportunities.
We invite you to get to know the YLS Board, and to learn about volunteer opportunities with the YLS.
MBA membership is free for the first year you are licensed to practice law for the first time, and there is a discounted rate for the second year in practice. Hardship waivers are available upon request.
Become a member online today, or contact the MBA staff at mba@mbabar.org or 503.222.3275 for more information.
