Young Lawyers Section (YLS)

What is the YLS?

An inclusive section of the bar, comprised of any MBA member in practice less than 6 years or under the age of 36. The YLS provides leadership, networking, professional development and service opportunities, in addition to a business development network. And we have fun!

The Young Lawyers Section was created in 1980 and makes up approximately one fourth of the MBA's membership.

Most current leaders of the bar and bench are involved, or have had some prior leadership experience, with the MBA. And the MBA YLS is a great place to start honing your leadership skills and raising your profile. Most referrals come from other lawyers so this is the place to plant the seeds to cultivate future clients and/or to find new career opportunities.

Current YLS leaders are on the YLS Board tab. To get involved on one of our YLS committees, complete and return a volunteer form or contact the MBA at We will be recruiting volunteers for our 2020-2021 year starting in the spring, with appointments made over the summer.
