Regular $150: Admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction for the first time in 2021 or earlier.

Reduced Dues $75: Admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction for the first time in 2021 or earlier, with an income of less than $50,000 annually.

Second Year $70: Admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction for the first time in 2022.

New Admittee $0: Admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction for the first time in 2023 or 2024.

Retired $55: Aged 60 years or older and retired from the active practice of law, or attorneys that are disabled and retired from the active practice of law.

Certified Pro Bono (Regular) MBA Member $75: A 50% reduction of Regular MBA Member dues is available to attorneys employed at a nonprofit organization that is an OSB Certified Pro Bono Program.

MPD/MDI (Regular) MBA Member $75: A 50% reduction of Regular MBA Member dues is available to attorneys employed at Metro Public Defender or Multnomah Defenders, Inc.

Associate $80: Law clerks, paralegals, legal assistants, legal secretaries, legal investigators, court reporters or other persons working in a law-related area. First-time Associate membership must be submitted in writing (print and return form).

Affiliate $150: Any member of the general public who does not fit the criteria for any other membership category. Note: Affiliate Members may not vote and are not eligible to participate in the MBA Health Plan.

Law Student $0: Presently enrolled in an accredited law school.

Notice Regarding Tax Deductibility of MBA Dues

Dues paid to the Multnomah Bar Association are not deductible for income tax purposes as a charitable contribution. However, a portion of the dues may be deductible as a business expense. Check with your tax expert for advice. The portion of your MBA dues that is not deductible for any purpose is $5, which represents your share of expenses incurred or expected to be incurred by the association for political activity.
