You are invited to join the YLS Pro Bono Committee and your host, famed Portland entertainer Poison Waters, for a lively evening of bingo. All proceeds to benefit the Volunteer Lawyers Project at Legal Aid Services of Oregon. About the Volunteer Lawyers Project
The YLS convened an ABA-funded conference in the late 1970s on the topic of achieving justice for low-income individuals in the community. The result was the creation of the MBA Volunteer Lawyers Project in the 1980s, a separate 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to providing local pro bono service, complementary to Legal Aid of Multnomah County. VLP later moved to Multnomah County Legal Aid Services in 1996, and merged with the statewide entity Legal Services/Legal Aid Services of Oregon (LASO) in 1998.
