Please join the Victim Rights Law Center and Legal Aid Services of Oregon for a presentation about sexual abuse protection orders and how to work with sexual assault survivors. Presenting the seminar will be Margaret Davis and Susan Dussault of VRLC.

The VRLC is dedicated to providing free legal representation to sexual assault survivors across Oregon. The LASO Domestic Violence project provides free civil legal services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Clackamas, Hood River, Multnomah, Sherman, and Wasco Counties.

During this fast-paced, thought-provoking workshop, you'll learn about:
  • Sexual abuse protection orders (SAPO), including the substantive and procedural requirements
  • Recent changes and updates to the underlying law for obtaining the initial order and then preparing for and presenting at any contested hearing
  • Best practices for working with clients seeking SAPOs
Who should attend? This program is for pro bono attorneys volunteering with LASO or the VRLC, and those with some court experience who are interested in taking on short term pro bono cases to get more time in the courtroom and help sexual assault survivors. One hour of OSB MCLE credit pending approval.
